Oh my gosh it has been  at least a year in the making and now it is very nearly upon us ( I could actually cry with excitement) I thought  I would let you know some of the tips and hints I have got when  planning our Disney holiday.

Plane, Eurostar & Euro tunnel

They all offer something  slightly different and really it is entirely up to you and what you want from your holiday. Flying is a quick and efficient way there and if you are staying in a disneyland hotel you get a free magic express  coach to take your from the airport to Disneyland. However, if like us you are stuck to school  holidays the flight prices can become quite expensive for a family of four. We could not find a good deal so looked at other options of travelling. The eurostar seemed like a great in between and if you book in advanced you can get some good deals. We would  have chosen this option but we decided we would be staying off site and therefore needed a car. It was cheaper to do the Eurotunnel with our car than eurostar and rent a car there. In total it cost us £122 return for all 4 of us.  It is a long drive and many are put off driving abroad, in all honesty if I was driving I doubt we would be doing the euro tunnel but as Anil is used to long distance and is up for the challenge we are giving it a shot. The euro tunnel times are great and we are leaving early morning so we can hopefully be in disneyland for early afternoon.

On site vs off site:

For us this came down to purely price. There was a difference  in £1000 to staying off site. And for the amount of time we would spend in the hotel this appealed to us. However, if you don't  want to drive, pay for parking  or perhaps  a single parent family on site does provide easy access to the park with the added perks of early magic hours and the option for a dining plan. It was a hard decision for us as the properties  on site look amazing  and I really did want to immerse us fully in the disney bubble. Maybe our next trip we will try on site.

Tickets:

Book directly with disney, book as a package, attraction tickets, superbreaks, wowcher  you name it there are so many deals and places to buy the tickets. We have decided to purchase annual passes so we can make the next year full of disney joy. So we have brought a day ticket from attraction tickets and we will upgrade them to an infinity pass whilst meeting up with some annual  pass holders to sponsor  us for 10% off. Disney have also brought out the ability  to pay monthly  for the annual  pass. You can either apply to do this online via the french link to disneyland paris and use google translate; or go to the park. You will need you bank details  and IBAN number and it is worth checking with your bank as some won't support international direct debits.

Groups and ideas:

Facebook and twitter are a wash with tips, hints  and tricks. Groups such as disneyland paris for brits are fantastic. Here you can find out lots of little secret meet and greet areas, hidden secrets  of DLP and generally advise on booking and whats on.

Booking restaurants:
DLP have finally started to join the world of online restaurant booking  albeit for only a selective amount  of restaurants but it is a great alternative to the phone booking system that cost a small fortune in phone charges. Here's  a list of the web links for restaurants available so far:
They work best if you copy and paste the link into your browser.
